I started traveling and taking pictures for the Peace Corps on the first day my government security clearance came through. It was a whirlwind around-the world flight on PAN-AM 1 with stops in Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, India and Bangkok. I met presidents, kings and emperors, but was more impressed by the young Peace Corps volunteers and the people they helped survive in Third World countries. John F. Kennedy had said, 'Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country,' and these young college graduates were quick to respond by giving of themselves. They were the best and brightest. Indeed they were the finest ambassadors America ever had and they quickly won the hearts and minds of the people they served in developing countries.

After my service in the Peace Corps I transferred to the Agency for International Development and documented programs in public health, agriculture and irrigation. After the Peace Corps and AID I continued to travel as a free lancer and finally topped over 100 countries.
